QBE has sponsored the Sydney Swans for over 30 years. However, despite this there was still room for better brand association. So, using QBE’s unique visual style we came up with the idea of showing the unpredictable bounce of an AFL ball as a metaphor for life – through an animated spot which played at respective home games and across other sponsorship assets.

We even developed a stadium activation where fans at the SCG could Shazam our ad on the big screen to win free hot dogs and took to social media with a series of memes that drove further engagement with the brand.

Compulsory third party insurance is not something most people take a great deal of interest in, so we needed to make a clear link as to when customers need to consider QBE for their CTP insurance. Meet Rego, an animated character with the knack of popping up unexpectedly! In a competitive market like South Australia, he did help the brand cut through, engaged consumers in a fun way and most importantly smashed their target results.
